Tuesday, March 10, 2009: Special Election for Braddock District Supervisor Seat

The special election for Braddock District Supervisor is scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Only voters registered in the Braddock Supervisor District of Fairfax County are eligible to vote in this special election. Vote at your regular polling place. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you do not know the location of your regular polling place, visit the Where Do I Vote? section of the Virginia State Board of Elections web site.

Voter Registration

The final day of voter registration is Tuesday, February 24, 2009 (if you are already registered at your current address, you do not have to register again).

Absentee Voting

In-person absentee voting for the March 10, 2009 special election for Supervisor, Fairfax County Braddock District (Braddock District voters ONLY) is available at the Fairfax County Office of Elections located at 12000 Government Center Pkwy., Suite 323, Fairfax, VA on the following dates and times:

  • Monday - Friday, beginning Tuesday, February 17 through Friday, March 6, 2009, 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (The office is closed on Monday, February 16, 2009)
  • Saturday, March 7, 2009, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
  • To vote absentee by mail, absentee ballot applications must be received by the Fairfax County Office of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2009.
  • Voted absentee ballots must be received by the Office of Elections no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in order to be counted.

Registered voters who will be away from Fairfax County on Election Day, or who are unable to go to the polls because of illness or disability, may vote by absentee ballot. Visit the Office of Elections web site to see if you are eligible to vote absentee.
